New Module Proving a Success Already

Today was an extremely successful day. I have managed to get the framework done for the Drupaltin 5.x-2.0 module. As of right now all synchronous log in and log out functions on the Drupal side work perfectly. As I said before in an earlier entry, you will no longer have to replace the default login block. This is very good because it caused some weird compatibility issues with one known module. These issues will no longer exist.

Next I will be adding the functions for user management synchronization from Drupal. In the Drupaltin 5.x-1.0a module, you could not add or remove users from Drupal without throwing off your database sync. Now you will be able to add, edit, and delete users from either Drupal or vBulletin without any problems.

I will also be adding some blocks in the module which are similar to the blocks that are in the Drupal vB module. There were a lot of people wanting the blocks for the alpha release, but frankly I was more worried about getting the system foundation finished before adding luxuries. Well the foundation has been laid, roll out the luxuries!

While coding the new module, I have kept ease of debugging in mind throughout the process. The new module has an option to put Drupaltin into "Debug Mode" to help you find any errors. This added feature will help significantly both you as an end-user, but also myself while providing support. I have a lot of really good ideas planned still, my hope is that Drupaltin 5.x-2.0 will be very easy to install and debug.

So as you can see, I am very happy with the progress I have been making on the new module. Once I finish the module I will move on to the new vBulletin plugin, and finally the new installation script. At this point in time, I can not give an ETA as to the release date, but I am working very hard to get it done as quickly as possible. Remember I'm a one man team at this point, while trying to manage being a full-time college student and work 30+ hours per week. Nonetheless, I think the next release of Drupaltin will please you!
